The development team at Obsidian working on Project Eternity is keen to show fans of the game a new enemy that they will encounter during battles and share more about the development process via the Vine video app.

Brandon Adler, a producer, is the newest member of the team to communicate with those interested in the squad-based role-playing game.

His previous video game development credits include: Neverwinter Nights 2, Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, Alpha Protocol, Dungeon Siege 3 and South Park.

The animat enemy was shown during the Rezzed event in Birmingham, United Kingdom where Chris Avellone, one of the leaders of Obsidian, talked about the vertical slice process for Project Eternity, which was also detailed via the official forums.

Adler states on the forums, “Animats are animated by the souls of ancient warriors that were extracted, purified, and bound into the armor. Copper is an especially strong binder for soul energy, which is why bronze is used for the animats.”

Cooper seems to be an especially important material in the game as the development team also mentions it was used by the Engwythan, residents of Eir Glanfath, for architecture and magical items, mainly an alloy that included soul magic.

The official forum post also includes a list of the Obsidian developers who are posting Vine videos about Project Eternity.

Once again the development team is encouraging gamers to offer their feedback on the looks and mechanics of the game as all information will be taken into account during the rest of the development process.

The game was funded via Kickstarter and will use old-school party-based mechanics, allowing players to create their character and then recruit companions for an epic adventure.

The entire world of Project Eternity is original and the development team at Obsidian promises that fans of Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter will feel right at home while they explore it.
