Developer Slightly Mad Studios has released yet another fancy trailer for the upcoming racing simulation video game Project Cars, highlighting its impressive level of visual fidelity.

The video shows how even a mundane vehicle such as a Renault Clio can look stunning and perform well on the tarmac in Project Cars, offering us a glimpse of some of the incoming action and the customization options afforded to players.

The game is set to break all currently existing genre benchmarks, featuring the largest track roster of any recently released motorsports game, a wide variety of gameplay options, an in-depth career mode, competitive multiplayer, and a lot of other neat options.

Project Cars also includes dynamic weather simulation and night and day cycles, as well as support for a wide variety of peripherals, including VR tech, thus enabling users to get fully immersed in all the high-octane action.

The game is around a month away

The racing video game is headed to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms this May, with publisher Bandai Namco Games revealing that SteamOS and Nintendo Wii U versions are also in the works, to be released later this year, presumably.

Unfortunately, there is still no definitive release date for the product, even though it’s supposed to be launching in a month or so. This may translate into yet another pushback, but at the same time Slightly Mad Studios might release the game in its current state, and focus on applying the missing polish post-launch.

Project Cars has been in the making since 2011, so the devs have had quite a lot of time to tinker with it. It is the result of a long crowdfunding campaign that took place entirely on the developer’s website, with over 80k backers being actively involved in the making of the racing title.

The assistance of the extensive and dedicated community was invaluable in the process of shaping Project Cars into what it is today, a gem with the potential to overshadow all existing driving simulation video games, by offering one of the most technically accurate experiences yet.
