Maybe Plug and Play devices like the DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) aren't the only solution when it comes to making workout less boring. Here's a device that can also keep you somewhat "entertained" during your daily workout.

Introducing the Progio Training Companion. This device comes with a 320 x 240 LCD that displays workout-related data. Firstly, the Progio comes with a calendar that allows you to plan your workout and also manage the results. Then, there are the easy to follow workout instructions showing stills, video clips, interval times and much more. Relax, it's Chuck Norris free content. The interesting part is that you can purchase more multimedia workout programs from their site (for the right price that is).

Lastly, you can always check out the built-in Polar Heart Rate Monitor that tells you if your heart is still beating. Once you finish your exercising, it uploads all the data to the company's website.

Apparently, the rugged hand-held comes with a pre-loaded "Lisa Engles" 60 minutes total work out program. The device is easy to use and contains detailed instructions about the number of sets, repetitions, rest intervals and equipment used. Simply select start or push the "video", info, "images" buttons to review all information about a particular exercise. Selecting "jump" brings out all the prescribed exercises in your workout: a cardio warmup, hamstring stretch, standing adductor stretch, quadriceos stretch and standing hip flexor.

Progio Training Companion sells for (cough) $399 ($499 with built-in heart rate monitor). So, better stick with those cheap printed manuals.
