Fans and press outlets have been speculating back and forth whether or not Bryan Cranston's character, Walter White, is going to make an appearance on the new spin-off show, “Better Call Saul.” Since “Breaking Bad” was such a hit series, it's only natural that people want him to be included in the new project.

Today, we have the first piece of solid news regarding Walter White's participation in the new series, and it comes from Peter Gould, who is an executive producer on the spin-off. It turns out the production team has made some promo in the cast and the plot in order to include Walter, meaning that you're going to see Cranston reprise his role.

Gould sat down with NY Daily News when he made the revelation, and he also explained that the show's timeline was more complicated than originally announced, moving back and forth over several decades, not just the 80s. This means that the Walter White era is also going to be included in the story.

“One of the great things about having a time line which is flexible is that perhaps some of it takes place before ‘Breaking Bad,’ during ‘Breaking Bad,’ and after ‘Breaking Bad.’ That gives us the ability to bring back characters that were killed on ‘Breaking Bad’,” Gould told the newspaper.

Just don't expect Cranston to become a regular figure on the show. “We want to make a show that stands on it own, is its own story and is a brand extension. We think we have a story that is worth making. ... We could never dream of the kind of success that ‘Breaking Bad’ had and the love we got from the fans. But (with ‘Saul’) at a certain point you have to do the best job you can and tell the best story that entertains you, get a good response and hope people like it,” the producer added.

That being said, the network behind the project, AMC, is already betting big money on the popularity of the project and has already ordered a second season, despite the fact that not even the pilot has been shot at this point.

Gould thanks them for the opportunity and claims that this is a very good chance to think the story through to the second season right from the start. “It’s tremendous for us because we get to plot out two seasons. And the way we work is similar to ‘Breaking Bad’ as it is very serialised and each episode builds on the last. And that gives us a much bigger canvas to play with.”
