“There was no explanation” for the decision, J.P. Williams says

MTV has canceled “Buckwild” without as much as an explanation to the cast and the producers, though word has it the show had attracted too much controversy and had become too “hot” for the network.

After several drug busts and scandals, and Shain Gandee’s death last week, the decision didn’t really surprise anybody – except for producer J.P. Williams.

In a statement to THR cited by Gossip Cop, Williams puts MTV on blast saying they could have offered an explanation for the decision, at the very least.

Considering MTV’s track record in reality television, “Buckwild” was mild by comparison so, no, Williams did not expect it to be pulled off the air.

“This is the network that has shows about teen pregnancy. They’ll stick by a show that allows you to abandon a child, but a kid dies by accident doing what he does for a living [mudding] and they cancel the show?” Williams says.

“There’s something that smells of [expletive] here on every level,” he adds.

MTV refused to comment both on the cancelation and the producer’s harsh words but, according to many voices online, at this point, cancelation was the only possible solution.
