The Stimulus Package for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now out and both developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision are probably expecting to have another hit on their hands. The first new map pack for what has been the biggest selling title of 2009 includes five new killing grounds where players can test their skills but it seems there are a few issues with the DLC, some gamers not being able to enjoy the new experiences at the moment.

Initial reports talked about multiplayer lobbies not working and about maps actually not showing up after the Stimulus Package was bought. Microsoft moved fast to make sure that all problems were solved and, as time passed, matchmaking became the most significant problem with the entirety of the Live service for the Xbox 360 affected.

Larry Hryb, who is the program manager for the Xbox Live service, has offered updates via his Twitter feed, saying that “The Stimulus Package needs a Title Update and it didn't go out properly. We're pushing it out now - it won't be long” and then also told fans of the game and of the home console that “XboxLIVE still experiencing billing & account creation issues, includes Xbox.com. All guns firing, will keep you posted!”

The Stimulus Package is set to also arrive on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and on the PC but release dates have not been confirmed by Activision for those platforms. Infinity Ward is working on another map pack for Modern Warfare 2, also set to arrive first on the Xbox 360. It seems this will be the last Call of Duty-related content the studio will be creating for Activision.

The publisher is saying that the launch of the latest DLC has been accompanied by a donation for the United States Navy sailors, worth 180,000 dollars.
