The United Kingdom videogame chart is a good indicator of how the various releases are doing this fall. After all, the NPD Group data for the North American market is coming out only once a month, while this chart is released weekly. So, let's take a look.

The big news is that Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 from Konami is now number one, while the Electronic Arts published and developed FIFA 09 has been pushed down to number two.

It seems that the launch week for FIFA is still better than the release week for PES 2009. Also, the Konami-made football title managed to sell most of its copies on the PlayStation 3, while FIFA moved more copies on the Xbox 360. Both football games are set to sell well as the Christmas shopping season approaches and moms get them for their hard to satisfy kids.

Saints Row 2 from THQ has managed to land at number three in its launch week, moving more games on the Xbox 360 than on the PlayStation 3. The game is taking the open world concept created by the Grand Theft Auto series to a whole new level, while also taking a less than serious approach to gang warfare, which makes it so that reviewers are pleased with the amount of fun that the game is offering.

LEGO Batman is at number four in the chart, with its release that covers all the hardware platforms, while Wii Fit seems to be stuck to number five, followed by another Nintendo Wii title, Mario Kart Wii. Nintendo is surely smiling while looking at the numbers.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is still in the top ten, at number seven, followed by Wii Play and by Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. Numerous other blockbusters are set to launch in the coming weeks, which means that the chart will probably change radically come next week.
