“Prisoners” from director Denis Villeneuve promises to be as chilling and intense as it’s personal. Above is a first official trailer for the star-studded drama that plays on the concept of putting regular people in extraordinary situations to test their limits.

Two families are torn apart when their two daughters go missing one night, on their way home.

One parent, Hugh Jackman, seems to be determined to cross all lines and break all laws to find them, when the justice system fails him.

Terrence Howard, on the other hand, isn’t convinced that such a path will yield results. Will he help his friend?, that seems to be the question left hanging in this trailer.

“Prisoners” also stars Maria Bello, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Paul Dano, and Melissa Leo, and will be out in theaters this September.

Keep an eye out for it if you like what you see in the trailer.
