Robots may not be 3D printable yet, since proper PCB printers are only now being created, but 3D printing some of their components is straightforward enough.

Using that as a starting point, London-based company PrintME decided to create a series of 3D printed robots that people from the world at large could buy.

The robots can be used as toys or they can be employed in educational endeavors by kindergartens and primary schools, or even for higher years depending on how creative teachers are.

PrintME is actually one of the few companies that offer 3D printable robots for sale. Robot kits to be specific, since you have to assemble them yourself.

The cheapest is priced at just under $136 / €120 and includes the control board, two buzzers, two IR sensors, one button, two light sensors, one Bluetooth module, one Potentiometer, two LEDs, two mini servos, and one PrintBot.

That means there are ten electronic components included. The final robot should be pretty small, at 5 x 5 cm / roughly 2 x 2 inches.

The size and complexity of the robots go upwards the higher the price becomes. There are larger robots for the same small price as well. Check out the full list of PrintME Robots on the company website. You can choose between BQ and EZ bots.
