14 DAY TRIAL // Prince Harry was believed to have finally found himself the woman of his dreams, his very own Kate Middleton, the one who would finally lead him at the altar. There has been a lot of speculation, particularly in the last couple of months that the two were planning a secret wedding.
Today it's been revealed that Harry and Cressida have in fact split after a 2-year relationship, indicating that things were not royally perfect between them. The Telegraph reports that the two have split after Cressida has been unable to deal with all the attention that came with dating a prince.
Ironically, the final straw in their relationship was the fact that the press kept speculating and pushing for an engagement. That seems to have put Cressida permanently off being a royal girlfriend and she made the decision to call it quits.
This speculation was started by the fact that Harry and Cressida made an appearance together at an engagement for the first time last month, and the media took it as a sign that they were getting comfortable around each other and wanted to show off their relationship.
Cressida, 25, is said to have been unable to cope with all the attention and with the status of “princess-in-waiting” despite the fact that her friends describe as “laid back.”
As the shocking news of the split is making the rounds on the internet, one source close to the couple suggests that this break-up may not be permanent and it's just a “pause for a breather.” This is supported by the fact that Prince William and Kate Middleton also split up for a while before getting married.
Another friend assures the media that the split was amicable, “It's very sad that they have decided to split but this is a completely amicable separation and they are remaining the very best of friends. This gives Cressida the opportunity to focus on her career but they would like to have a few days to be left alone.”
This last statement indicates that Bonas was also longing for her career, which she's had to put off since she became Harry's girl. Now she can return to her life on the stage without having to worry about looking royal.
As all of this is going on, the Prince showed no visible signs of distress when he appeared yesterday at a recovery center for wounded servicemen. He appeared to be in high spirits and joked with the soldier at the scene.
For the moment, the future of their relationship is uncertain but one source indicates that its future is impossible to predict because “I don’t think the two of them know either.”
