Primera Technology, Inc., a company touting itself as the world’s leading manufacturer of CD / DVD and Blu-ray Disc Publishers, has announced its PTBurn Software Developer’s Kit (SDK) for Mac. Called PTBurn for Mac, the SDK is available at no charge to integrators via the company's support section, while registration is required to download the development tools.

“This comprehensive SDK can be used with any of Primera’s Bravo-series Disc Publishers,” Primera Technology confirms in the official report. “Bravo Disc Publishers automate the process of burning and printing CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray Discs,” the company adds.

The press release also includes a list of key features of the software. PTBurn SDK for Mac reportedly burns and prints natively on Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, and ships with a bundled print layout application that allows merged text and other data, as well as native Mac frameworks that can be linked to new or existing Mac applications. With the software development kit, developers also receive source code for a fully functional Cocoa-based burn and print application.

“Mac users represent a large and growing segment of our customer base,” Mark D. Strobel, Primera’s vice president of sales and marketing, said. “The availability of a Mac SDK further strengthens our commitment to the Mac development community. Our SDK provides all the tools necessary for developers to support our award-winning Bravo-series Disc Publishers natively from Mac applications.”

Visit Primera Technology here to register with the company and download the Software Development Kit (SDK) for Mac OS X now. As mentioned above, the software requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard to run. No mentioning of Intel or PowerPC architecture was made as a requirement.

Primera Technology is probably best known for its award-winning Bravo-series Disc Publishers (pictured above). The company's DVD / BD / CD duplication and printing equipment is used by more than 80 percent of Fortune 500 companies, according to a post on Primera's site, as well as companies and organizations in over 85 countries.
