Chris Brown releases video promoting “Graffiti” album and his “comeback” to the music scene

When Chris Brown was sentenced of assault of his former girlfriend Rihanna, many believed and did not even blink before saying publicly that he as an artist was over. At just 20 years of age, to see one’s career go down the drain is a powerful incentive – and precisely the angle Brown tackles in a new preview for his upcoming “Graffiti” album.

The material, which is also said to include tracks that hint at the desperation and loneliness he felt when Rihanna, along with half the world, turned her back at him, will be his attempt at doing things all over again. Only better than the first time because he is now, as they say, older and wiser and knows to appreciate the things he has before he loses them.

The video starts with images of Chris Brown as he was before he lost his temper and assaulted Rihanna on February 8, 2009. It’s like a movie that the Chris of today is watching, as if telling the viewers that his own mistakes are the best lessons he could have asked from life. The old Chris is famous and enjoys tremendous support and love of the fans from all over the world but, because he’s young and inexperienced, he doesn’t know the true value of what he has.

The message with the promo is, as the singer himself says, this time around, he will not make the same mistakes again. There is even a shot of Chris included, which shows him falling on his knees, in what can’t but be a symbol for the fall from grace due to the Rihanna controversy. Promising that he “will do it again,” the video ends with Chris’ promise that he will redeem himself through his music – through the upcoming “Graffiti” – and perhaps even get back the fans he lost in the aftermath of the February scandal.

Below is the video previewing the album in full. Enjoy. While “Graffiti” drops in stores on December 8, residents in the US have the possibility to listen to it in its entirety, streaming on MTV The Leak, here.
