A new low-cost tablet makes it to the market

Russian low-cost device maker Prestigio is extending its Windows 8.1 tablet portfolio, with the addition of the MultiPad Visconte 3 tablet this week. The device will go on sale soon in Europe.

The MultiPad 3 arrives with a 10.1-inch IPS display, and like most slates on the market, it boasts a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (the configuration translates into 149ppi).

At the heart of the tablet lies an Intel Atom Z3735 Bay Trail processor clocked at 1.33GHz with burst speeds going up to 1.83GHz in Turbo Boost mode.

The chip takes advantage on integrated Intel HD Graphics and is fitted with 2GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

The tablet functions with an optional 3G modem and also brings about Bluetooth 4.0, micro HDMI output, micro USB port, full-sized USB 2.0, two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP video camera on the back).

Life on board of the device is sustained by a 7000mAh battery, which seems quite capable of delivering a sufficient life-cycle.

The tablet is part of Microsoft’s assault on the budget market and come equipped with Windows 8.1 with Bing. In Europe, the tablet will sell for roughly $300 / €239.
