Publisher Activision has announced that the Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops will come with a remote controlled small surveillance vehicle alongside other limited edition staples like extra content that can be used in game and a medal.

Activision has announced that it will be launching two limited editions of its upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops, called the Hardened and the Prestige editions.

The Hardened package will be the less reputable of the two, including an exclusive outfit for the Xbox Live Avatar that the buyer has, a custom medal and four exclusive cooperative multiplayer maps.

The Prestige Edition includes one very interesting extra, a remote controlled vehicle that can be driven around and can provide the player with intelligence in real life.

The official description says that “with a range of up to 200 feet, the RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle has a fully-functioning remote camera that transmits both TFT colour video and audio to its operator.”

Activision has not yet announced how much the Prestige edition package will sell for when it is launched.

The bonus for the Prestige edition is based on a perk that will appear in the multiplayer component of Call of Duty: Black Ops, allowing the player to be more aware of his surrounding and the action of other players.

The new Prestige editions for Black Ops is a worthy successor to the similarly named edition for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, launched last year, which came complete with a pair of fully functioning night vision goggles for those interested in unleashing the special forces operators inside themselves.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is developed by Treyarch and moves the series to the World War and will see the players roam the battlefields of Vietnam, Russia and the Arctic.

The game is arriving on the PC, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 with a version for the Nintendo DS also in development.
