Most politicians tend to talk about video games only to highlight their negative effects on the population, especially youngsters, but United States President Barack Obama is bucking the trend by praising The Witcher 2 during his current visit in Poland.

In a speech, the president said, "The last time I was here, Donald gave me a gift, the video game developed here in Poland that’s won fans the world over, The Witcher. I confess, I’m not very good at video games, but I’ve been told that it is a great example of Poland’s place in the new global economy."

Barack Obama added, "And it’s a tribute to the talents and work ethic of the Polish people as well as the wise stewardship of Polish leaders like prime minister Tusk."

It's highly unlikely that a man as busy as the president of the United States has actually played The Witcher 2, which he has previously received as a gift, but clearly, someone in his staff has done so and was compelled to make the video game a part of the speech.

The Witcher 2 was created by CD Projekt RED, a Polish-based video game developer that has managed to make a product that shipped millions of copies all over the world and which has also attracted a lot of praise from critics.

At the moment, the studio is working on an all new title in the same franchise, called The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which was supposed to be launched later in 2014 and has been pushed back to February of next year.

The experience is designed to close the story of Geralt, the Witcher that gamers have been following for some time.

Players will be able to find out more about his past and deal with one of the most important and traumatic events that he went through.

The Wild Hunt is a powerful supernatural force that claims the lives or all those who meet it and Geralt will have to be more powerful than ever in order to fight it.

The Witcher 3 will use an open world structure that includes both critical path quests and side missions with complex moral choices and a chance to fight with the most fearsome monsters that exist in the world of the game.

CD Projekt RED is promising bigger areas to explore and a reworked combat system that emphasizes dynamism and quick thinking.
