14 DAY TRIAL // Thomas Beatie, aka “the Pregnant Man,” split from his wife of 10 years Nancy back in 2012 but, 2 years on, things between them are just as bad, if not actually worse. A new report suggests that Beatie still lives in fear of Nancy, having obtained a restraining order even on the emails she sends him.
Until 2012, Nancy and Thomas appeared to be the perfect family. They had 3 children together, which incidentally brought them international recognition because Thomas was a transgender male. However, he agreed to carry the pregnancies to term because Nancy couldn’t, and he still had his female reproductive organs.
In 2012, with the divorce announcement came a series of allegations that painted the relationship as anything but ideal, because Thomas said that Nancy was extremely violent towards him, both verbally and physically, many times even in front of the children.
He obtained the first restraining order against her. Meanwhile, she was telling the media that she’d been stripped of all custody or visitation rights, thrown into the streets, and forced to live out of her car, as debts kept piling on.
According to documents filed in court and obtained by TMZ, she was also terrorizing Beatie like nothing had changed in the status of their relationship.
“In court docs, Beatie says he testified against Nancy last October for allegedly violating an earlier restraining order. After the hearing, Beatie claims Nancy flew into a rage... scaring him so much he immediately sought a SECOND restraining order,” the e-zine says.
“[Nancy] is here now outside the room from me as I fill out this second order against her. She is very angry and verbally assaulting both me and my girlfriend,” Beatie wrote.
He convinced the judge because he granted Beatie the second restraining order, which barred Nancy from writing him more than 2 emails a day, both on the topic of the children. There is a limit on the number of words too: no more than 6 sentences per message. So, if Nancy is ever feeling particularly talkative on whichever topic (even that of the kids), she could end up in jail.
As far as the media knows, Beatie’s claims that he’s terrified of his violent ex aren’t entirely unfounded. Shortly after he filed for divorce, a video leaked online, showing Nancy verbally abusing and manhandling him in front of their crying children. Also then, she smashed his PC to the ground and threw it in the pool, but not before smacking him with it.
