Horror is yet another incentive for the first person shooter

Video game publisher Electronic Arts has announced yet another incentive designed to get players to pre-order the upcoming first person shooter Battlefield 3 from the digital distribution service Origin, with Dead Space 2 offered to all those who are ready to take this step.

The company is saying that it only has a limited number of copies of Dead Space 2 to give away so all those gamers who are interested in the offer should move fast.

Of course, Electronic Arts always has the option to make more keys for Dead Space 2 available so it's very probable that all the pre-orders will get this special offer.

At the moment only the United States Origin storefront is offering Dead Space 2 for pre-orders but the offer might be extended to Europe and the rest of the world in the coming days.

Dead Space 2 was launched early in 2011 and is EA's second entry in the horror shooter genre, with players once again called upon to fight the Necromorphs and find out some startling truths as they do so.

The game largely failed to deliver any sort of deeply scary moment but the shooting is solid and all those who are ready to play and enjoy Battlefield 3 will find a lot to like in Dead Space 2.

Electronic Arts is hard at work making Battlefield 3 as attractive as possible for those who are interested in pre-ordering, allowing them access to the multiplayer oriented beta stage of the game and also giving away downloadable content after the launch date.

The DICE developed video game aims to deliver a more realistic look at modern combat and will use the Frostbite 2 engine, which allows for more detailed settings and more environmental destruction.

The game will be out towards the end of October on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC and will be competing with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
