PowerColor, one of the leading vendors of computer graphics accelerators designed using AMD's latest Radeon GPUs, has announced today the expansion of its PowerColor HD4890 series with the introduction of the high-performance PCS++ HD4890. The new card builds on the company's previous PCS+ HD4890, but delivers an increased performance thanks to the increased GPU speed of 1GHz. The new card is almost identical to the company's previous model but comes with a higher-speed 1GHz graphics processing unit.

“The PowerColor PCS++ HD4890 is unlike any product in our lineup. The overclocking ability of this card is second to none,” said Ted Chen, CEO of TUL Corporation. “The HD4890 series and the PCS++ HD4890, in particular, are in a class of their own when it comes to combining speed and stability.”

The Radeon HD 4890 graphics card has been designed using AMD's fastest single-GPU, the RV790, known for its overclocking capabilities. The new card delivers a performance boost over the chip maker's previous Radeon HD 4870 and allows AMD's fans to enjoy some of the latest gaming applications on the market, even at higher resolutions. PowerColor's latest card builds on the overclocking capabilities of AMD's Radeon HD4890 and provides computer enthusiasts with a dual-slot video card that is ready for the latest in visual applications.

PowerColor's PCS++ HD4890 is equipped with a fast GPU that runs at 1010MHz, a factory boost over the PCS+ HD4890 model. The card also boasts 1GB of 256-bit GDDR5 memory, clocked at 1100MHz, a PCI-Express 2.0 interface and support for DirectX 10.1 and ATI's CrossFireX technology. The card is also available as part of a special edition game bundle, which includes the Battle Forge gaming application.

Both the PowerColor PCS++ HD4890 and the PCS++ HD 4890: Battle Forge Edition are equipped with an HDMI port and have an upgraded PWM design. Unfortunately, the company hasn't released any details regarding the availability and pricing of the two cards.
