That's the product's actual name, stemming from the portability, among other things

Portronics may have just made the day of people who travel but would like to have some means of working on their laptops while still sitting normally wherever they go.

There is a new laptop desk in town, so to speak. Or at least, there will be as soon as Portronics gets around to the part where it starts shipping it.

The formal announcement doesn't specify a price or an estimated time of arrival (ETA), but we guess it won't take long for online stores and retailers to offer it.

And by “it” we mean My-Buddy. No, not my buddy. My-Buddy, the special desk / docking station / cooler.

The short version is that My-Buddy is a portable desk that can bear any laptop. The longer version includes weight limits, endurance parameters, connectivity capabilities, a fan, etc.

First off, Portronics had durability in mind when it built My-Buddy. That led to the ability of the joints to survive being opened and closed more than 25,000 times, without getting visibly worn.

Speaking of which, the desk can fold into an easily portable slab of sorts. There would have been little point to buying it over a regular stand otherwise.

Secondly, the desk can support laptops of any size and a maximum weight of 35 kilograms (77 pounds).

A third asset is the fan attached to the wooden panel. With a speed of 1,800 rotations per minute (RPM), it runs on 2W of energy. Said energy is drawn from the laptop itself, via USB. There is a high-quality USB wire built directly into the stand in fact.

Finally, the Portronics My-Buddy has adjustable height and angles, so that comfort may be maximized regardless of what you are sitting on, and how high (a bed, sofa, the lawn, etc.).

Portronics may or may not ask for more money than Sharper image demands from people seeking to buy the Compact Computer Desk with Speakers. Probably less, since My-Buddy does not, in fact, possess speakers.
