Portal 2 will offer the best single-player experience that its developer, Valve, has ever created, topping some other impressive titles like the company's Half Life 2.

Portal 2 is set to be one of the biggest games of the beginning of the year, so Valve is doing everything it can to make it even more appealing.

Now, the company's Chet Faliszek, one of the writers for Portal 2, revealed to The Gaming Liberty that the upcoming game is one of the greatest titles ever made by the company.

"In terms of single-player experience, [Portal 2 is] absolutely the best," Faliszek revealed, convinced that the title will trump critically acclaimed games like Half Life 1 or 2, which are being lauded years after their release for their immersive single-player campaigns.

But Portal 2 will also have a cooperative mode, which is also set to be one of the most addictive experiences delivered by the company.

According to the Valve executive, "In terms of co-op, I'm going to say it's a tie with the Left 4 Dead series. Left 4 Dead is near to my heart. The Single player is so dense in Portal 2. It's the best."

Last but not least, Faliszek wanted to emphasize how the surprise popularity of Portal shocked even the company itself, as Valve didn't even want to create such a cult following.

"We never could have guessed that it would have taken off the way it has. We didn't invent the game with this is mind," he admitted. "We just wanted to create a good game, with good environments and a cool world and go from there."

Portal 2 will finally appear next week, on April 19, in the US, and April 21, in Europe, for the PC and Mac through Valve's Steam digital distribution platform, as well as on the PlayStation 3, which will get Steam support, and the Xbox 360.
