The portable wind solar system we talked about earlier today is pretty impressive, but I suppose carrying it around in the absence of a car might prove a bit of a hassle, if not an impossible thing to do altogether.

Luckily, there is one very simple solution to this problem: opting for the foldable solar charger pictured above instead of the Portable Wind Solar Complementary System.

Its developers say that, when the four solar panels that make up the SolarGami system are folded together, the contraption is no bigger than a book.

Besides, it only weighs about 3.7 lb (1.67 kg), so carrying it around should not be a very difficult thing to do, Tree Hugger reports.

By the looks of it, the charger is so light due to the fact that its panels are made with a material obtained by recycling PET bottles.

The solar charger has an energy generating capacity of 25 watts. Whatever electricity is produced while sunbathing is stored in a detachable battery.

The system is also fitted with four USB ports, so one can charge whatever gadgets and gizmos they never leave the house without on the spot.

Have a look at the video below to learn more about this innovative piece of technology.

The solar charger's producers are now looking to raise funds to get their product on the market. I don't know about you, but I sure hope they will succeed.
