At Porsche there is one 911 version that counts more than anything. It is called the Porsche 911 Targa S and is one of the most appreciated versions of the legendary 911.

Now it is available also in Romania where the official importer, Porsche Romania, has presented it to the public. Since its first generation, the 911 Targa has become a fashion icon in the Porsche range, meaning that if you really want to be unique you have to get one.

The name comes from the famous road race Targa Florio, which was won by Porsche cars 11 times, between 1956 and 1973.

Forget about the mighty 911 Turbo or the 911 GT3, this Targa is a version that is going to offer you performance and style, all in one package.

The first generation was somehow a gamble for Porsche, but the impressive sales offered them the positive answer. Since then, 30 years ago, Porsche continuously modernized the car and all the new generations of 911s got a Targa version.

On the road, if you put a normal 911 and a 911 Targa in close proximities, you will see that the design line of the second one is more fluid and sportier.

The biggest advantage of this is that it is capable to combine the rigidity of the normal 911 and the feeling of freedom in the 911 Cabrio. At the touch of a button you are able to open the sunroof and hear more clearly the sound of the boxer engine.

If you are going to encounter a rainy area, push the button again and your 911 will close its big sliding roof to offer you a bigger protection from the changing weather. After receiving feedback from costumers, the manufacturer is now offering this 911 in two different engine versions.

The first one is called 911 Targa 4 and the second Targa 4S. The difference between these two cars is that the more expensive version 911 Targa 4S is equipped with a more powerful 3.8 liter boxer engine that is capable of delivering a maximum power of 355 HP and 400 Nm. Both versions are available with a standard 6 speed manual gearbox, but if you want to drive more relaxed in urban areas, Porsche is offering the automatic gearbox called Tiptronic S. Even if it has only 5 gears, the car is capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.

As an option, you can change your iron brake discs with ceramic ones, called PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes), which are capable of stopping the car more efficiently. Also, the car can be equipped with the latest Porsche active suspension called PASM, a feature that will give the car a sportier feeling, depending of the driving style.

And if you encounter really bad atmospheric conditions, the ESP from Porsche - named PSM (Porsche Stability Management) - will safely correct the trajectory of the car in the most extreme road situations.

Overall, the new Porsche 911 Targa 4 is a real Porsche that aims for the enthusiasts, those that understand the history of the 911 and what the exclusive Targa name really means.
