Google wants to improve its filters and block all the adult material showed by the search engine in a move meant to increase its security. The Mountain View company made an agreement with the Korean government that will help the search giant improve the SafeFilter. At this time, the SafeFilter is available for most of the search technologies owned by Google but the search giant plans to make them even more powerful and block all the pornographic content. According to ZDNet Korea, the move is meant to protect minors from visiting inappropriate websites indexed by Google and restrict the access to the adult material.

"Our continued efforts with Korean government to come up with best solution for protecting Korean children and youth from pornographic material has paid off and we are delighted" said, Kent Walker, Google's lead attorney according to ZDNet Korea. "I feel very positive about the latest effort by Google, working close with Korean government and showing commitment toward protecting minors," the Koran information Ministry added.

Although the SafeFilter is currently available as a protection system, the Mountain View company will enhance its functionality and will implement an authentication system to block all the inappropriate content.

Since the search giant was assaulted with complaints concerning the content indexed by the technologies, Google was struggling to build powerful filters to offer only clean results. As you might know, the company is also providing several malware notifications able to inform users about the existence of infections or other types of threats. However, it is more than difficult to filter all the content indexed by Google because its search engine is currently hosting a huge database with pages from all around the world and numerous types of content. That's why it is extremely difficult to filter the content, the search giant requiring even the users' help to report malicious pages.
