A phone call made by Pope Francis to Adolfo Nicolas, the superior at his old Jesuit order has been met with disbelief by a confused receptionist with a sense of humor.
Posted above is an interview with Andrea, the receptionist who has had the honor of speaking to the pope and has almost dismissed him.
Daily Mail writes that, after the pontiff presented himself, the man answering him thought someone was pulling his leg.
“Oh yes? And I'm Napoleon,” he responded.
A shivering Andrea describes how the Pope remained very composed, took no offense and even tried to calm him down.
“Do not worry, Andreas, just connect me with Father General, I would like to thank him for the charming letter,” he insisted.
He was referring to a letter congratulating him for his appointment on behalf of the members of the Jesuit order.
Usually a Pope would have someone make that call for him then put him through, but Pope Francis likes to do things himself.
After being elected he carried his own bags from the hotel and paid his bill, refusing to be treated any differently.
