Pope Francis has issued another controversial statement, this time regarding gay priests. He says that he is not in the liberty to judge anyone for being gay.

His statement pretty much suggests his acceptance of gay priests in the Catholic Church, an issue that has met a lot of resistance from the College of Cardinals in the past.

"Who am I to judge a gay person?," the Pope notes. He also discussed about being against the marginalization of the LGBT community, the Huffington Post reported.

The statement was made at the World Youth Day in Rio during the last Sunday mass of the Pope's trip to Brazil, on July 28.

Three million people gathered on Copacabana Beach to hear him speak. A show preceded the Pope’s appearance on the stage.
