A more feature rich version of the A-300 also packing Blu-ray support

If you are a fan of Syabas’ Popcorn Hour A-300 but the lack of Blu-Ray support made you look elsewhere for your media player needs, the recently released C-300 may just be what you’ve been waiting for.

The new Popcorn Hour takes almost all the features introduced in the original A-300, except for USB 3.0 slave functionality, and adds to these support for Profile 5.0 Blu-rays.

As far as performance is concerned, AnandTech already has a C-300 in its test labs and it appears that they are happy with how the new Syabas media streamer handles its job.

Another good news is that the C-300 is expected to ship before Christmas, so this could indeed make it under your Christmas Tree, but it has the downside of costing $349 (260 EUR).

At this price point, the C-300 is significantly more expensive than the $219 A-300, but I guess that it all depends on just how much one values his, or hers, Blu-ray collection.
