Ahead of Reese Witherspoon and Halle Berry

The public has always been fascinated with polls, as redundant as they may seem. From the best actor and most bankable celebrity, to the best looking man, woman or couple in the industry, and the (in)famous worst-dressed lists, polls can cover a wide range of topics. The latest MSN-conducted survey focuses on the eight “yummy mummies” in Tinseltown, and has Angelina Jolie in the lead.

The poll has been conducted online and, it seems, most of those queried see mother-of-six Angelina as the hottest celebrity mum. While the criteria used when choosing the finalists have not yet been made public, the women who have made the cut for the rest of the chart are just as charming as the leading lady herself, including Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon and Kate Winslet.

With Angelina getting 29 percent of votes as the yummiest mummy in showbiz, Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon have come at a tie, both landing the second spot. British Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has come in at three, followed by Jennifer Garner, Katie Holmes and Gwyneth Paltrow. The final position has gone to Cate Blanchett, according to several media outlets. The poll has been conducted on the occasion of the upcoming Mother’s Day (March 22).

If Angelina is the hottest mother in showbiz, when it comes to being an onscreen beauty, she comes in second after Audrey Hepburn, as another recent poll has revealed. Other actresses who have made the cut are Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Lauren, Catherine Zeta Jones, Elizabeth Taylor, Keira Knightley, Halle Berry, Brigitte Bardot, Julia Roberts, Vivien Leigh, Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz, Doris Day, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Aniston, Michelle Pfeiffer and Liv Tyler.

“A great cinematic beauty by definition has to look amazing in motion, not just in pictures. Audrey Hepburn is clearly a timeless beauty explaining why she is the nation’s choice, though a personal favorite of mine has always been Vivien Leigh – she was not only breathtakingly beautiful but had an astonishingly expressive face. Unlike many actresses, her expressions never run counter to her beauty, which seems an essential point of her being rather than just a quirk of genetics.” Nicola Moulton, beauty and health director of Vogue, said for The Telegraph at the time the results of the poll were made public.
