When it comes to audio products, I mostly cover the ones used by PCs, but there are others, and they aren't necessarily that interchangeable between computers, game consoles, audio devices, phones, etc.

Polk has just released the Striker, a headset aimed at owners of a Microsoft Xbox game console. It takes an unusual approach to wireless sound.

You see, the wireless receiver is designed in such a way as to plug into the Xbox One game controller, enabling cable-free connection to the Xbox One. Both chat controls and volume adjustment means are included.

A built-in boom microphone is used as well, allowing your voice to be clearly heard over the noises of whatever game you're sharing with whoever.

Also, the microphone is extensible and flexible. You can pull it out of the ear cup, until it's 7 cm / 2.75 inches long. Pretty convenient, if I do say so myself.

And if you don't want to use the wireless adapter shipped with the product, you get a 46-inch / 1.16 meter cable as well. All for the price of $89 / €89.

Finally, the Polk Striker boasts a cushioned headband (cushioned, not just padded) and pivoting, plush ear cups. Polk calls everything the ProFit Comfort system.
