Another villain was captured in March 2012 by vigilant New York police officers.

49-year-old Lawrence Deptola was arrested after attempting to rob the Key Bank Utica office.

Representatives of 2 other banks in the central New York state area reported the "suspicious" man entering their premises before the Citizens Bank “hit.”

The aspiring bank robber threatened the tellers with a toilet plunger and his foul language. At first, he yelled obscenities, and then handed them a bag and asked them to put the money in it.

Bank employees interviewed by NBC affiliate WKTV state they reported the man to the police beforehand, as they believed he looked “suspicious.”

As 2 other reports from banks in the area came in before the Key Bank incident, the officers arrived quickly at the scene at around 1:30 PM, before the plunger bandit could cause any serious harm.

A foot race started, but the criminal was caught and put behind bars. Curiously enough, he found the time to stash the plunger in a nearby Citizens bank, where it was recovered.

We do not know at this time if he was the rightful owner of said plunger.

The man was arrested under the charge of third-degree robbery. He is currently awaiting trial for his class “E” felony.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the process.
