The company is trying to make it into tablet business

When you think of Polaroid, you usually think of cameras and photo accessories, but it seems the company is looking to extend beyond these limits.

Just a few months ago, Polaroid released a kiddie-friendly slate on the market and now it’s seemingly moving things further along, with the launch of a new set of Android-powered slates.

The three devices are budget offerings and are called Q10 (10-incher), Q8 (8-inch) and Q7 (7-inch).

The tablets don’t really have specs to stand out, drawing power from obscure unknown quad-core processors. The only highlight seems to be the HDMI out, reports NextPowerUp.

But before shrugging the slates off as another batch of bland budget appearances, you should know all three run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Thus Polaroid gives a slight competitive edge to these products, considering most tablets out there are barely being updated to Android 4.3 (if you're lucky).

As for pricing, Polaroid will sell the products with rates ranging between $129 / €94 and $179 / €131.
