Polaroid has started shipping its second-generation Kids Tablet back in November, and now the company has already announced its prepping the successor, which is called the K7.

Laptopmag managed to catch a sneak peek of the Polaroid K7 V3, which was on display at the CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Apparently, the upcoming tablet sports a design similar to its predecessor with a soft body and a vivid color UI.

Unlike a lot of child-friendly slates we have seen these days, the new Polaroid slate doesn't feature a bumper, but boasts rubbery sides to protect against accidental falls, instead.

The K7 V3 features a 7-inch screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution and draws power from an upgraded quad-core processor backed-up by 8GB of internal storage (which is extendable via the SD card).

An interesting feat here is the tablet’s app store which is protected by password, so only parents can access it and choose which apps their kids get to see. Google Play can also be installed, so adults can have access to regular Android apps too.

The Polaroid Kids Tablet 3 will come bundled with Android 4.2 and will become available somewhere in Q1 2014 for the affordable price of $129 / €98.
