After confirming two brand new installments in the Pokemon franchise yesterday, in the form of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Nintendo has now posted some more details about the two titles, as well as a few screenshots showcasing the protagonist and even a higher quality trailer.

Pokemon titles have entertained owners of portable Nintendo consoles for quite some time, as all sorts of great installments have appeared over the years for devices ranging from the Game Boy Advance to the Nintendo DS.

Now, the 3DS will receive its own set of two Pokemon games, in the form of the recently revealed Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.

After seeing the Nintendo Direct video conference in which the company's president, Satoru Iwata, revealed the new titles, some more details have surfaced via an official statement, confirming that the titles have "new Pokémon, a new storyline set in a spectacular 3D world, and dynamic battles."

"The worldwide launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y this October allows players to begin their adventures at the same time," said Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokémon Company, in a statement.

"Now, Pokémon fans across the globe can discover the secrets of Pokémon games and can collect, battle, and trade with each other immediately."

The power of the 3DS will also result in drastically improved visuals as well as brand new effects that take advantage of the console's glasses-free 3D system.

"We brought Pokémon into an entirely new dimension and we’re incredibly excited to bring Pokémon X and Pokémon Y to fans," said Junichi Masuda, video game director at Game Freak, the developer of the games.

"The stunning visuals, a completely redesigned environment, game scenario, music, and communication features will bring smiles to the faces of video game players around the world."

What's more, Pokemon X and Y will represent "the blueprint for an exciting array of new animation, Pokémon TCG, and toys debuting around the world," so you might want to get it pre-ordered ahead of its launch in October.

Until then, check out a few screenshots from the games and a full trailer.
