Pokemon video games supplies in Japan were drained in just 4 days, a total of 1,588,734 copies of Pokemon titles were sold. Two Pokemon titles dominate the first two spots of the classification. Seems like the Japanese can't keep their hands off their Nintendo DS consoles while they are playing Pokemon.

The first ever Pokemon video game was created by Satoshi Tajiri in the 1990s for Nintendo Japan. The franchise evolved a great deal as a series of cartoons, comic books, trading cards and toys were created. Players that Play the Pokemon game are able to catch the monsters, train them and if they evolve enough, they can transform into other Pokemons. The Pokemon franchise appeals to children as the little creatures don't bleed or die, they only faint.

Until now over 100,000,000 copies of Pokemon video games have been sold worldwide. The record for the largest opening for any title in Japan is held by Final Fantasy VIII with 2,504,044 copies sold. Maybe the next Pokemon release will break that record.
