After last weeks' Japanese sales, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi was knocked down from the first spot by Pokemon Diamond. Despite the incredible sales, DBZ managed to secure the fourth spot this week.

Incredible as it may seem, Japanese retailers ran out of Pokemon Diamond stock for the third week running, registering sales of over 275,000 units. The Nintendo DS version of Pokemon seems to be encountering the most problems as hardware stock was sold out again this week.

Square Enix encountered similar problems as the only thing that kept them from having two titles in the sales top ten was that retailers ran out of Final Fantasy III units. The Game Boy Advance Update of Final Fantasy V had a spectacular debut as it entered the classification on the second position.

As regarding hardware sales, the Nintendo DS is still going strong as 104,760 units of the games console were sold. PSP sales increased by 500 units up to 21,603 units. PlayStation 2 sales went down as Sony managed to sell only 24,727. The last place of the sales classification is taken by GameCube with 653 units. Xbox 360 sales figures exceeded the ones of the GameCube as retailers handed over 1,743 units.

The Final Fantasy V update mentioned earlier managed to boost the sales of Game Boy Advance by a third as the Nintendo console sold 4,050 units.
