14 DAY TRIAL // Germany's Zoo Heidelberg is now home to an adorable Poitou donkey foal. The young donkey is a male, and spends most of his time jumping around his enclosure.
Judging by the picture above, one might assume playing is the only thing on this young donkey's mind.
However, his caretakers explain that feeding also takes up a lot of his time.
According to Zoo Borns, the foal is still nursing. What's more, he has a surprisingly large appetite. Luckily, mother Resi doesn't seem to mind.
This Poitou donkey foal was born towards the end of June. Because he is still very young, his fur is significantly darker than that of his mother, the same source tells us.
Employees at Zoo Heidelberg say that, in the weeks to come, the young donkey will surely get a more brownish color.
