If for some reason you’re looking for a Kindle eReader alternative, you might want to look into the new PocketBook Touch Lux 2, a very lightweight (108 g / 0.2 lbs) and ergonomic digital reading device that could suit your needs just fine.

The eReader is a little thicker on the bottom so users can firmly hold the device in their hand. Under the hood, the Lux 2 has a 1GHz CPU (improved from the previous 80MHz) combined with 256MB of RAM (up from the previous 128MB), reports Notebook Italia.

As for the screen, which is the most important feat when it comes to eReaders, the Lux 2 has a 6-inch E-Ink Pearl HD resolution of 1024 x 758 pixels and 16 gray levels.

The improved 1500 mAh battery ensures up to 8,000 pages being displayed with backlighting or Wi-Fi enabled. The Lux 2 has 4GB of internal memory which is more than enough to store all kinds of documents, be they ePub or PDF.

With the Lux 2, customers also have access to an online store, Internet browser, RSS reader and Dropbox. The eReader will hit the market with a street price of €99 / $134.
