And the robotic animal doesn't even need to run in order to catch them

Deer hunting season is currently closed, but that doesn't really stop everyone from taking out their rifles and shooting at everything that moves, so the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has taken special measures.

What they did was create a type of robotic deer and placed it on the side of the road in random places.

Whenever someone shot the deer, officers would spring up from the surrounding area and arrest the culprits. The same officers that remotely control the movements of the unliving animal.

Most recently, a man from Florida got busted this way. He made two infractions: shooting a deer outside of hunting season, and doing it from the roadway. He'll probably have to spend a year in jail.

Interestingly enough, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has supposedly been using these robotic deer for a while now, according to Miami Herald and Outside Magazine.
