Microsoft will launch a total of four non-critical security updates next week as part of its monthly Patch Tuesday cycle, but in addition to these, the company has also prepared lots of performance improvements for Windows 8.1.

The company has published descriptions of several non-security updates aimed at Windows 8.1 machines, most of which are supposed to bring performance and reliability improvements.

ZDNet has the complete lists of the updates which, just like all the other patches released by Microsoft, will be delivered via Windows Update to Windows 8.1 devices, be they PCs or tablets.

All of these updates are also expected to be included in the upcoming Windows 8.1 Update 1 pack that’s going to see daylight at the BUILD conference in April.

It turns out that the future update would be more like a service pack that would include all previous fixes, but some people are also indicating that major improvements are also coming, such as the return of the Start Menu.
