Playyoo Limited, a UK-based company, officially announced the release of its public beta website, Playyoo, that works as a social networking platform, allowing users all over the world to create, share and download casual mobile games. The website offers mobile users free and quick access to Adobe Flash Lite games, bringing together gamers and developers.

The Playyoo website, which can be accessed from PC here or via mobile phones at this address, could become one of the largest mobile gaming communities in the near future, as its structure resembles the one of YouTube, relying on user generated content, free access and easy game discovery.

"Since we first unveiled our preview site in October, Playyoo has generated strong interest within the Flash Lite and gaming communities. We've had visitors from 82 countries on 162 mobile networks on our mobile site, and we are seeing an enthusiastic and growing community of early adopters on our web site, including several leading Flash Lite game developers," said Chris Pelly, Chief Executive Officer of Playyoo Limited. "This response reflects the need to make mobile games easy to find, free to download, engaging to play, and fun to create. By providing a fun, social experience, Playyoo will encourage the widespread enjoyment of mobile games across a broader group of mobile users. You can be sure that this launch is just the beginning; we're going to be unveiling lots of great things in the future."

In an attempt to give a serious impulse to high-quality mobile game development, Playyoo comes with the Playyoo Game Contest, open to all skilled Flash Lite developers. The contest offers prizes of $25,000 in cash and lasts until February 28 (2008, of course), when winners will be decided based on community ratings and download statistics.

Playyoo currently offers about 200 free games and more are added each day. Everything on Playyoo is free, from registering to downloading, as the site is supported by light advertising, so those who usually enjoy mobile games and social networking should try to visit it and see if it can answer their entertainment needs.
