Mass Effect 3 is coming before the end of the year and the two main public voices of developer BioWare are saying that the feedback they are getting from fans is crucial to making the title the best it can be.

They mentioned that two of the elements that will be changed significantly in Mass Effect 3 include the way the player deals with inventory management and with research into better equipment.

Planet scanning, which was characterized as frustrating by gamers, will also be scrapped and replaced with a new mechanic.

Speaking in an interview with IGN Ray Muzyka, who is one of the co-founders of BioWare and currently serves as the chief executive officer of the developer, has said, “We responded to the fan feedback for Mass Effect 2, a lot of that came directly from listening to the fans and trying to address the comments they had to make the game even better.”

He added that, “we’re gonna take all that feedback from Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 and apply it to Mass Effect 3. I think the best is yet to come.”

Greg Zeshuk, the other co-founder, says making changes in response to player requests is natural for the company and the only way to deliver games that build on the desires of the audience.

Mass Effect 2 simplified some of the traditional elements of the role-playing game, like inventory management, and some fans of the BioWare way of creating games have complained that they are making a game that is simplified for consoles.

BioWare has not offered any clear information on how Mass Effect 3 will play and only showed a brief trailer for the game which shows aliens assaulting Earth head on while Commander Shepard is trying to rally the other races of the galaxy to mount a counterattack.
