The 3G+Wi-Fi model of the PlayStation Vita handheld console has received an unofficial price cut in the U.S., as select Sony stores are now selling a special bundle of the device plus a few accessories and a data plan for just $199.99 (around €153).

The PS Vita hasn't been a big success, as the relatively high price point and the lack of truly killer games didn't attract many fans, despite Sony's effort to promote it through different methods, including Crossbuy or Crossplay.

After denying a price cut for the PS Vita, Sony has now apparently implemented an unofficial discount via its regular stores.

According to Joystiq, which contacted different outlets across the U.S., many are now selling the 3G version of the Vita for just $199.99, a $100 discount over the standard price.

What's more, some stores even mentioned that this version of the PS Vita is being discontinued soon and the price cut is meant to eliminate any stock.

As of yet, Sony hasn't commented on this price cut.
