The official PlayStation application for Android devices has just been updated to version 1.1, but the software is not available for download yet.

PlayStation Official application allows user to take the world of PlayStation everywhere they go as long as they own an Android device.

The application was initially released in January 2011, along with the iPhone version, which can be downloaded via App Store.

Those who download the app can check out their PlayStation Network trophies and keep up to date with their friends’ games and online status.

In addition, users will be able to discover all the latest games, news and hardware for their PlayStation 3, PSP or PlayStation 2.

Furthermore, the application allows users to read all the announcements on the European PlayStation.Blog, and share their favorite products or news with their friends on Facebook, Twitter or via e-mail.

However, with the PlayStation Official app 1.1, new improvements and features have been added that will further immerse users into the world of gaming.

One of the most important improvements is found in the MyPSN section where users will be able to order their friend list based on their online status and search for friends.

Users will also be allowed to compare trophy information with their friends in more detail, and they will be able to comment directly from the app and rate the posts in portrait and landscape mode.

A new Share & Discuss section has been added, where users can find all the official PlayStation updates from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Those who wish to try out Sony's third-party software should be aware of the fact that PlayStation Official App 1.1 is not compatible with Android 1.6 anymore.

Users who cannot upgrade to a newer version of Android can install version 1.05, which is available as a free download from Android Market.
