Sony has confirmed that its upcoming PlayStation 4 next-gen console will support just four DualShock 4 controllers, as opposed to the Xbox One from Microsoft that can handle eight different controllers.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are both set to debut in November and the next-gen console war has already degenerated into a battle of features and specifications.

After learning that the Xbox One can handle up to eight of its new controllers, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida revealed on Twitter that only four controllers would be supported by the PlayStation 4.

This is a decrease from the PlayStation 3, which can currently handle seven different devices.

No details were given about this limitation but, considering there weren't a lot of games to take advantage of five or more controllers, Sony may have decided to just stick with support for four and focus on other things.
