14 DAY TRIAL // 2014 seems to be the year Veronica Mars makes her comeback. After the long-anticipated full-feature film has just had its trailer released, it's now being reported that the blonde detective is getting an online spinoff series.
Veronica Mars finally got the movie done through a Kickstarter project where fans donated the funds needed for completion. The publicity surrounding the project got the attention of some people in the industry, as it's now been announced that CW will be picking up the spinoff.
CW President said during the TCA winter press tour that he spoke with the show's creator Rob Thomas to iron out the details. He confessed that the project in its very early stages and things are still in discussion.
Thomas later tweeted, “The CW web series: a comedy featuring RyanHansen attempting to put together a Dick Casablancas spin-off of VeronicaMars,” offering some light into this new project.
The Veronica Mars full movie is coming out in March 2014. The film got its funding from fans through a Kickstarter project. The needed budget of just two million dollars was achieved in a matter of hours.
