French developer Cubical Drift has announced some new incentives for the crowdfunding campaign they are currently undertaking for Planets³, their upcoming role-playing and building game hybrid.

The Kickstarter is well underway to reaching the team's Kickstarter goal, and they have decided to add extra perks for their early adopters.

As such, any would-be and current backers can all add an extra $10 / €7 in order to get an additional digital download of Planets³, to gift to friends of family, or an additional $20 to get 3 exclusive pets, each one of them with unique abilities that will help players when getting started in the early stages of the game.

"We wanted backers to get something that would make them feel special when starting to play our game. Something that feels unique. Why does your cute pet have abilities? Because I'm a Kickstarter backer," said Michel Thomazeau, Planets³ Project Director.

Apart from the backer-only incentives and exclusive pets with unique skill sets, the team has revealed some of the updated features they have planned for Planets³, such as the option for every player to be able to create his own server and then invite friends over to play together.

Characters will have different statistics that players will be able to improve and level up with various actions performed inside the game, for instance a character's power stat can be improved by using heavy tools and weapons, while the vigor stat will be increased by exerting the character when tired.

Additionally, storyline will also be playable in multiplayer, allowing parties to enjoy the progression process together, and all their progress will be stored on the server.

Moreover, there will be more armor sets, with armor specifically tailored to female characters, and players will be able to tame certain wild animals in order to turn them into their pets.

The game is currently scheduled to come out for PC, with a playable alpha to be released by the end of the year and a potential release date sometime in 2015.
