Sony Online Entertainment has already mapped out the goals for the upcoming weekly patches

The PlanetSide 2 developers have a busy couple of months ahead, with numerous improvements scheduled for the first half of 2014.

PlanetSide 2 is a massively multiplayer online shooter developed and maintained by Sony Online Entertainment, available for the PC for the time being but expected to also land on the PlayStation 4 at a later date.

Sony Online Entertainment has recently announced its intention to bring weekly updates to PlanetSide 2, and it appears they are committed to delivering on their promise.

The PlanetSide 2 roadmap has been updated recently, laying out Sony Online Entertainment's goals for the following months.

January – Player Studio updates, some changes to player and vehicle spawns and general performance improvements.

February – updates to the Infiltrator class, improvements to the mission system and death screen, and some voiceover packs.

March – Liberator class update, additional customization options for melee weapons, outfit recruiting and outfit base capture reworked.

April – Directives (session-to-session goals and rewards, achievements), integrated tutorials and an update to the Combat Medic class, outfit leaderboards.

May – the introduction of the new continent, Hossin, followed by Continent Locking, an update to the Sunderer, the revamp of the Light Assault class, and a lot of smaller improvements and tweaks.

June – the revamp of the resource system, new alert types and other minor overall improvements.

Other unscheduled improvements are outfit progression, implants, vehicle zoning, an update to the Engineer class and several others.

There was no word whatsoever of the PlayStation 4 version of PlanetSide 2, which is yet undated. It most likely won't be released until everything is in top notch condition, in order to become Sony's answer to Xbox's Halo series.
