A spokesperson for Asiana airlines has stated that the pilot of the plane that crashed at San Francisco International Airport was still training on the 777 aircraft.

Airline rep Hyo Min Lee told the LA Times that 46-year-old pilot Kang Kook Lee had 43 hours of experience on the plane.

As documented, Asiana Airlines flight 214 from Seoul, South Korea crashed on Saturday with 307 passengers aboard, killing two and injuring several people.

The plane slammed into the sea wall near the runway. It was flying at significantly lower than 137 knots.

Lee has been a pilot since 1994 and he had experience on Boeing 747s, 737s and Airbus 320s. Copilot Jung Min Lee had clocked in over 12,000 hours on the Boeing 777.
