Smith Micro Signs Exclusive Deal to Publish Pixelmator for the Mac

Smith Micro Software has announced signing an exclusive publishing agreement with Pixelmator Team to distribute Pixelmator. The software is a powerful photo and graphics editing solution for Mac OS X designed for users who want to enhance their photo library the easy way. The app boasts 130 filters and special effects that work with all major image formats.

According to the people at Smith Micro Software, Pixelmator has been designed to seamlessly integrate with Spotlight, ColorSync, Quick Look and other technologies that are Mac-specific. Core Image and OpenGL is also leveraged in Pixelmator for fast image processing, the company says.

Supporting file formats ranging from PSD, JPEG and TIFF, to PNG, GIF, PICT, BMP and PDF, Pixelmator also supports Adobe Photoshop files with layers.
