The chances of iPad 3 using it aren't high, but they are there

The folks at NetbookNews took the time to visit Pixel Qi's booth while they were in Taipei, Taiwan, during Computex 2013.

One of the things they have spotted is a new display that may or may not be used by Apple's iPad 3 tablet.

With a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, it has high color saturation, better visibility compared to previous panels and a power consumption around 80% lower than the Retina Display Apple is said to have selected.

Pixel Qi previously said they would match and exceed the image quality and power consumption of the iPad 3 screen, but this is the first physical proof.

There was another screen there, next to this one, with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. We'll keep an eye out for both. They may not be likely to show up in Apple products, since Samsung and LG usually score the Retina display deals, but we'll see.
