Eager to build upon the popularity of one of its series of headphones, Pioneer Electronics has unleashed the Limited Edition HDJ-1000 professional DJ headphones, available in black and gold colors and set to start selling in December.

Even though it did not actually do a massive overhaul of the specifications, the limited edition headphones still have some design and performance tweaks.

For instance, the headsets can produce more linear response even at high volume levels now that the 38 micrometer-thick diaphragm and 1.5mm voice coils can better generate critical midrange and mid-bass frequencies.

Also, the HDJ-1000 heapdhones were tuned in such a way as to boost the lower bass frequencies of music.

The company also implemented low rebound urethane ear pads and a wrap-around design, for high comfort and sound insulation.

Other assets include a fold-away structure design, a swivel mechanism with 90-degree housing rotation and a mono/stereo switch for single-ear use, among other things.

“Much like our players and mixers, Pioneer headphones are designed for both style and performance. We have a versatile line-up of headphones that are sure to complement many DJ levels,” said David Arevalo, senior marketing manager, Professional Sound and Visual Division for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

“The new HDJ-1000s will not only catch your eye, but also please your ears,” Arevalo went on to saying.

It should probably be noted that the newcomers are built with a mono/stereo selector circuit that was modified in order to enable clearer sound, especially during playback of such things as cymbals, snare drums or even bass drums.

The HDJ-1000-G and the HDJ-1000-K, colored gold and black, respectively, will have a price of $209.

Those interested in the exact specifications of either need only stop by the official product page that their maker has already set up on its website in order to get a first-hand view of any and all information available.
